The property sits on land that was once a boys camp on Lake Winnipesaukee. Cicely Beston's interiors don't try to erase that history. They carry it forward. The blue built ins, the bunk room, the pennant on the wall, it all belongs to the same story.

THE INTERIORS
The palette runs cool. Blues, greens, a soft pink here and there in a way that feels less like a design decision and more like the lake got inside. The furniture is comfortable without being casual, the kind of interiors that are clearly considered but don't announce it.

The Camp Rooms
The bunk room and bathroom are where the history becomes explicit. The pennant, the striped towels, the tile. None of it is ironic. It is a genuine nod to what was here before.

The Camp Rooms
Alton Bay sits at the southern tip of Winnipesaukee, quieter than the main lake and more sheltered. The house feels the same way. Not trying to make a statement about the water, just oriented toward it, comfortable on land that has held this kind of place before.
